On September 16, 2025, a regular online meeting of partners on the international ORIUNITE project was held, summarizing the results of summer activities and defining key steps for the upcoming implementation phase. The meeting gathered experts from across Europe. Coordinators from the Orientaction organization, Michalakis Savvides and Diana Bridger, as well as representatives from L’ORMA, Paolo Menescardi and Claudia Sasso, actively participated in the discussion.

Contributions to the exchange of experiences were also made by Zoltan Szerdahelyi on behalf of Sibaris Club, Tomislav Kaniški on behalf of the Croatian Orienteering Federation, David Kozlowski as a representative of Landessportbund Berlin, and Sara Malvicini and Andrea Astemio from the Impact Wave Communication team. The Sport and Recreation Federation of FBiH (SZSR) was represented at this meeting by Ismail Šehić and Dino.

Focus on Local Progress and Future Initiatives

The central part of the conversation was dedicated to the progress of local activities, with the Sport and Recreation Federation of FBiH reporting on the actions carried out in Mostar. Although attendance was influenced by specific local circumstances, two awareness-raising actions regarding orienteering and the project’s goals were successfully held. Intensive coordination is currently underway with around 30 clubs to organize activities in various communities, including work in interreligious environments. To ensure the best possible promotion of these efforts, the SZSR team is additionally engaged in the field of videography and social media, where Dino will take the leading role in content creation.

In addition to the local reports, the partners aligned plans for marking the International Day of Peace through video messages and analyzed progress on the project’s documentary film, which focuses on borders and connecting youth through sport.

Special attention was paid to the logistical preparations for the large international training in Zagreb, planned for November 2025. It was agreed that national teams would be composed of experts who will cover the technical aspects of orienteering, education, and community engagement, thereby ensuring the long-term sustainability of the project’s goals in all partner countries.
